Jordan Barsky earned his MFA in playwriting at Carnegie Mellon University where he studied under Rob Handel. He won the KCACTF Region II short play competition with his play Paul’s Anonymous. His play A Blue Brown Forest was chosen for a workshop reading on the main stage at Dixon Place. His play Tim Kaine Sits In Front of a Mirror and Studies His Face was produced at the Brick Theater’s This is Not Normal Festival. This play will also be published in THE BEST TEN MINUTE PLAYS OF 2018 due to come out 12/18. Jordan has worked at Sam French as a script reader and New Dramatists as a stage manager and a friendly face at the front door. At New Dramatists he stage managed readings for Lucas Hnath, Deb Margolin, Andy Bragen, Matthew Freeman, and Olivia Dufault. Recently he was assistant director on Mathew Freeman’s play That Which Isn’t which ran at The Brick theater from August 11th– august 20th. Jordan attended NYU where he was lucky enough to work closely with Eduardo Machado, Brendan Jacobs-Jenkins, Lucas Hnath, and Peter Parnell. Last summer he had a blast participating in The 24 Hour Plays, Nationals playwriting workshop in New York City. He has had plays produced at the Players Theatre, and Manhattan Repertory Theatre. He hopes to one day understand his parents.
